HTX Releases December Security Report, Highlighting a Year of Unwavering Security Achievements

HTX said its December 2024 security report showed no security incidents for the year and listed millions of dollars in blocked or frozen funds. This update makes clear that those figures are company-reported, not independent findings.

Historical note: this article summarizes HTX’s own December 2024 security report. The figures below are company-reported and were not independent regulator findings.

HTX said in its December 2024 security report that it recorded no security incidents during 2024. That is the exchange’s own characterization of its record, not an independent conclusion from Robius.

What HTX reported for December 2024

HTX said it sent more than 350,000 security reminders during December, including 315,347 emails and 36,425 SMS messages. It also said it shut down three phishing or fake-app sites.

The exchange reported intercepting four withdrawal attempts to scam addresses, which it said prevented more than 60,000 USDT in potential losses. It also said it assisted with freezing about 320,000 USDT linked to stolen assets that had reached the platform.

HTX further reported flagging 59 new blacklisted addresses and intercepting five deposits from those addresses totaling more than 74,000 USDT.

What HTX reported for the full year

  • 98 transfers to scam addresses intercepted, with more than 1.37 million USDT in potential user losses prevented.
  • 7.83 million USDT in external stolen funds frozen with HTX assistance.
  • More than 2.7 million security alerts sent and 130 phishing sites shut down.
  • 71,089 addresses added to internal blacklists, with deposits involving 5.71 million USDT intercepted, according to HTX.

The useful distinction is that a security report measures what the company says it detected, blocked or recorded. It does not prove that no other incident occurred, nor does a “zero incidents” claim substitute for independent security audits, regulator disclosures or breach reporting.
