Plus500 UAE Is Legit. The DFSA Entity Does Not Hold Your Client Money

Plus500 has a real DFSA licence in Dubai. That is not the end of the entity check.

Plus500 has a real DFSA licence in Dubai. That is not the end of the entity check.

Robius checked the DFSA public register on August 14. Plus500AE Ltd appears as a DIFC company under reference F005651 with a retail endorsement and permission to arrange deals in investments. Plus500’s own UAE disclosure adds the part a logo cannot tell you: the DFSA entity is not authorized to hold client assets or client money and is responsible for facilitating account opening and CFD services by another group entity. Plus500 also now discloses a separate UAE mainland company as a product issuer. The brand is legitimate. The customer relationship is multi-entity.

The Robius Action Brief
Confirmed
Why it matters

Plus500 has real UAE authorization, but the DFSA entity’s role is limited and customer money or products may sit with another Plus500 entity.

Who should care

UAE residents considering Plus500 for CFDs or other trading products.

Opportunities

Plus500 now has both a DIFC regulatory presence and a mainland UAE product-issuer entity disclosed on its UAE site.

Risks or limitations

CFDs are leveraged, high-risk products; a real licence does not remove the possibility of losses or make every group entity subject to the same protections.

What happens next

Entity structures can change, so the current terms and regulator records should be rechecked when opening or materially funding an account.

What you can do

Match your agreement to the regulator record and identify who issues the product and holds client money before making a large deposit.

Who benefits

Traders benefit from knowing which Plus500 entity issues the product, arranges the account and handles client assets before depositing.

Who can participate

Availability and entity assignment depend on current onboarding and product eligibility; check the legal agreement presented to you.

What readers should monitor

Watch the DFSA scope, Plus500Gulf Securities permissions, account entity, client-money wording and complaint route.

What the DFSA Register Confirms

The DFSA register lists Plus500AE Ltd as a DIFC company licensed since February 1, 2023. Its reference number is F005651. The firm has an endorsement to carry on authorized financial services with or for retail clients.

The financial service shown is Arranging Deals in Investments, with futures listed under the investment category. That is a genuine regulated permission. It is also narrower than many readers assume when they see “DFSA regulated” on a broker page.

Our CMC Markets DFSA investigation used the same rule: read the permitted activity, not just the regulator logo.

Plus500 Tells You What the DIFC Entity Does Not Do

Plus500’s UAE disclosure says Plus500AE Ltd holds a category 4 licence with a retail endorsement and is not authorized to hold client assets or client money. It says the company facilitates the opening of trading accounts and the offering of CFD services by Plus500CY Ltd, a Cyprus-regulated group entity.

That alone would make the entity check important. But the same current page also discloses Plus500Gulf Securities LLC, incorporated in the UAE and regulated by the UAE securities regulator, as the issuer and seller of financial products described or available on the website.

This is why a brand-level answer can age badly. A group may add licences, reorganize onboarding or change which entity serves a product. The correct question is always “which legal entity is on my agreement today?”

The UAE Footprint Is Stronger Than One Licence

Plus500’s current disclosure identifies Plus500Gulf Securities LLC as a UAE-incorporated entity regulated under licence number 20200000232 for trading in international markets and OTC derivatives and currencies in the spot forex market. It says that entity is the issuer and seller of the financial products described on the UAE site.

That is materially different from an arranging-only DIFC entity. It also means old reviews that describe Plus500’s UAE footprint only through the DFSA can be incomplete.

We saw a similar timing problem in our XTB UAE legal-entity check. Broker regulation changes. A review is only as current as its last register check.

Legit Does Not Mean Low Risk

Plus500 being legitimate does not change the nature of CFDs. They are leveraged products, and leverage can magnify losses quickly. The right consumer-protection message is not “regulated, therefore safe.” It is “regulated, therefore verify the exact regulated relationship before taking the product risk.”

That means checking the legal entity, product issuer, client-money arrangement and complaint route. If your agreement names a different entity from the one you expected, stop and understand why before funding.

The Bottom Line

Plus500 passes the legitimacy check. The DFSA record is real, the reference number matches and the company openly discloses the limits of the DIFC entity.

The useful warning is not that Plus500 is pretending to be regulated. It is the opposite: the group has several real regulated entities, and you should not blur them together.

Before depositing, match the exact legal name in your agreement to the appropriate regulator. Then identify who holds client money and who issues the product. That is the level at which “regulated” becomes useful.
