Tether will open-source its Bitcoin Mining OS
CEO Paolo Ardoino said that Tether plans to open-source its Bitcoin Mining Operating System (MOS). This will allow for the autonomous management of mining operations.
It will work for operations of all sizes. The MOS improves Bitcoin mining. It combines important parts into a serverless network. This is a peer-to-peer system. It enhances communication between devices.
Ardoino highlighted that the MOS’s peer-to-peer Internet of Things (IoT) architecture is flexible. It can be adapted to different scales. This ranges from small setups using Raspberry Pi to large facilities with extensive mining operations.
Tether wants to help small and medium-sized mining operations. They plan to do this by open-sourcing the MOS. This will make these operations more competitive. This creates a fairer environment. It is better than what larger companies offer.
The project aims to improve network decentralization. It also enhances security. This is done by allowing more people to participate. It helps strengthen the Bitcoin network’s security.
Ardoino claims this measure will help new Bitcoin mining firms. It will remove the need for third-party hosting software. He claims that the MOS will help build a link. This link will connect publicly traded firms with smaller entities in the mining sector.
Ardoino mentioned possible developments. One idea is to add artificial intelligence. This could help improve production. It could also enhance performance analysis. This would use data from the Mining OS. The Tether team is working on documentation. They are also creating user manuals and community repositories. The expected release date is in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Tether has invested about $2 billion. This investment is in the energy and Bitcoin mining sectors. It also includes stablecoin operations. Ardoino is confident. He believes Tether will be the largest Bitcoin miner in the world by the end of the year. This would be better than even publicly traded companies.
